University Heights is a community in the North West area of Calgary.
This community was developed in the early 1960's and while there are mostly single family homes in the neighbourhood, there are also multi family units including condos and town homes.
The name derives from the fact that the area backs onto the south part of the University of Calgary.
Also very close to both the Foothills Hospital and the Alberta Children's Hospital. Lots of parks and playgrounds to be enjoyed.
Located on the north side of Highway One (16th Avenue NW) gives easy access to either downtown or to the Rocky Mountains.
LRT (Light Rail Transit) is easily accessible nearby at the University of Calgary or McMahon Stadium.
Neighbours to the south is St. Andrews Heights, to the west is Montgomery, to the north is Varsity and to the east divided by Crowchild Trail is Banff Trail.
Shopping can be found at North Hill Shopping Centre which is just east of the community on 16th Avenue NW (Highway One).
Schools can be found in the community and surrounding neighbourhoods.
