Sue Higgins Park, formerly Southland Park, is sprawled out over 62 hectares of city land. It is the only fully fenced off-leash park.
Other than the off leash usage, the park has a paved pathway for pedestrians. The dogs must be on leash while using the pathway.
This is a beautifully treed, mainly flat terrain where dogs and their human friends can gather and run about freely.
Many dogs can be found frolicking in the river during the warmer months; some are even brave enough to weather the water in the colder months.
The park was aptly named due to the fact that it is at the eastern most edge of Southland Drive just off of Deerfoot Trail S.E.
Washrooms are available at the main entrance being Southland Drive and Deerfoot Trail S.E. Dog Bins are located at the main entrance as well
