Silverado is a community in the South West quadrant in the city of Calgary.
Development began in the mid 2000 and is ongoing. The neighbourhood consists mainly of single family homes with some town homes.
Lots of green spaces, parks, playgrounds and bike paths conveniently surrounded by nature.
Silverado is located on the southern edge of the west side of the city, just east of Spruce Meadows. It is just south of the community of Somerset divided by Highway 22X (Spruce Meadows Trail).
Spruce Meadows is recognized around the world as a leading equestrian facility. However, it is much more than an equestrian centre and enjoyed by all who go there.
LRT (Light Rail Transit) station can be found in the neighbouring community of Somerset close to McLeod Trail.
Positioned on the West side of MacLeod Trail it provides a quick route to most places in the city.
As well being just south of Highway 22X (Spruce Meadows Trail)/Stoney Trail provides easy access to areas on the east/west spectrum.
Some shopping in the community, with additional shopping in the Somerset and Shawnessy communities along McLeod Trail, such as the Shoppes of Shawnessy, Shawnessy Centre and Shawnessy Village.
Schools are located in neighbouring communities.
