Riverbend is a community in the South East quadrant of the city of Calgary.
Development started in the early 1980's. The community consists mainly of two story single family homes with some town homes.
Nestled on the south east corner of Deerfoot Trail and Glenmore trail, providing residents with quick easy access to anywhere in the city. (Deerfoot Trail runs north/south through the city and beyond, while Glenmore Trail runs east/west through the city and beyond.)
The name of the community was aptly chosen because it is near a bend in the Bow River.
Green spaces, parks and access to the bike pathway system are enjoyed by many inhabitants of the community.
Views of the Bow River and the mountains from some areas in the neighbourhood.
Situated in the community is Carburn Park. The name of the park came from the company that the land was acquired from.
At Carburn Park there is so much beauty and so many different things for families to do.
There is fishing/ice-fishing at any of the three man made ponds. Canoes and paddle boats are welcome at the park.
There are areas for family picnics, hiking trails, cross country skiing and more. The park is enjoyed by many.
Shopping can be found the community as well as neighbouring. But with quick access to Glenmore Trail, the Chinook Centre is a short drive away.
Ogden is the neighbour to the north of the community, separated by Glenmore Trail while Quarry Park is the neighbour to the south .
Schools are found in the community and in neighbourhoods close by.
