Development of the community started in the early 1950's and comprises mainly of smaller type bungalows with townhouses and condos.

Nose Creek Park borders the community to the east with Bridgeland to the south. The neighbourhood to the west, divided by Centre Street, is Crescent Heights with the neighbourhoods to the north, divided by 16th Avenue N.E.(Highway one), being Tuxedo Park and Winston Heights.
Excellent bus service in the area with the LRT (Light Rail Transit) station on Memorial Drive near the Calgary Zoo in the community of Bridgeland.
Many available routes to downtown including Centre Street as well as Edmonton Trail NE. Shopping can be found along 16th Avenue, with easy access to Sundridge Mall on 36th Street NE.
