Ramsay is one of the older communities and is located in the South East quadrant of the city of Calgary. Development of the community started in the mid 1900's.
It consists mainly of single family homes, many of these homes are the original buildings which have been updated, but there is also a nice mixture of newer infills which provide a nice architectural diversity in the community.
The community was named after William Ramsay, a long time businessman in the area.
It is located just south east of the down town core with Inglewood as the neighbour to the east.
Scotsman Hill forms part of this community and is a place where beautiful mountain and downtown views can be seen.
The community overlooks the Stampede Grounds and the Saddledome with steps leading to the latter from the Scotsman Hill.
Although this community is steps to downtown, there is still lots of green spaces, tennis courts and the bike pathway to enjoy.
Shopping along Inglewood's 9th Avenue which provides many unique shops and restaurants. The downtown mall known as "The Core" is not too far away. While Chinook Centre is located on MacLeod Trail further south of the community.
Within walking distance of downtown with excellent bus service to the core and surrounding areas.
