North Haven is a community in the North West quadrant of the city of Calgary.
Development of the community started in the mid 1950's and consists mainly of single family homes.
The neighbourhood is just slightly east of Nose Hill Park, the largest off leash park in the city of Calgary.
It covers an area of 1,129 hectares and borders 12 communities in the North West.
Nose Hill Park is definitely an experience of the prairie nature without leaving the city.
Many people enjoy the hiking trails and many more bring their beloved furry friend with them as they stroll through the park.
Views of downtown, Canada Olympic Park and the mountains from different areas inside the park.
Other than having Nose Hill Park as a neighbour to the west, the community's neighbours to the north is Thorncliffe, to the south, divided by John Laurie Blvd. is Highwood.
Shopping can be found in the neighbouring communities with Deerfoot Mall a short distance east of Huntington Hills on 64th Avenue NE.
Bus service to downtown is excellent, or a drive down 14th Street will bring you to the core in short time.
Schools can be found in the community as well as in neighbouring communities.
