Douglasdale is a community in the South East quadrant of the city of Calgary.
Development started in the mid 1980's. Most of the homes in the area are single family, two story type.
The community is situated between the Bow River and Deerfoot Trail, which provides the community not only quick access to downtown, but gorgeous views of both the river and the mountains.
Green spaces, parks and access to the bike pathway system are enjoyed by many inhabitants of the community. Bordering onto Fish Creek Park is also an enjoyable and relaxing perk of this community.
Fish Creek Park is one of Canada's largest urban parks. Boundaries to the west is the T'suu Tina Nation Land and to the east is the Bow River.
So many things to enjoy at Fish Creek Park. There is simply so much beauty and tranquility and all so close to and/or connected to so many communities.
There is the Sikome Aquatic Facility, which is a man made lake opened from June to September of each year.
There are picnic sites and lots of pathways and trails to enjoy. As well, you can find the Bow Valley Ranch Visitors Centre and the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre.
Shopping can be found in the community and neighbouring communities with both the Chinook Centre and South Centre not too far away.
Quarry Park is the neighbour to the north of the community while McKenzie Towne is the neighbour to the south .
Schools are found in the community ad surrounding Neighbourhoods.
