Calaway Park is located just outside of the western edge of the city. It's just south of the TransCanada Highway in the community of Springbank. On bright clear days there are gorgeous mountain views to enjoy.
It first opened in 1982 and is the largest amusement park in Western Canada.
Of course there are rides as you would expect at any amusement park, bumper boats and log rides for those who enjoy getting splashed.
Roller coasters, and rides that spin you round and round and some that even spin you upside down. Rides for toddlers and teens and those in between .
Daily stage shows that many children and adults enjoy. From time to time you may even bump into a clown.
There is also the haunted house for all to get a scare. The fishing pond where many come to enjoy a relaxing time fishing. There is the mini-putt for those who enjoy golfing.
All this for one entry fee and parking is free. There are also season passes that are available and definitely make it worthwhile, as many families enjoy the park several times during the season.
There are restaurants and many picnic areas where many families enjoy making a day of the park and bring their lunches.
A delicious candy shop and an incredible gift shop can be found close to the entrance/exit gates.
