Bonavista Downs is a community in the South East quadrant of the city of Calgary.
Development started in the early 1970's and consists mainly of bungalow style single family homes.
The community is in close proximity of Fish Creek Park, easily accessible by Canyon Meadows Drive.
Fish Creek Park is one of Canada's largest urban parks. Boundaries to the west is the T'suu Tina Nation Land and to the east is the Bow River.
So many things to enjoy at Fish Creek Park. There is simply so much beauty and tranquility and all so close to and/or connected to so many communities.
There is the Sikome Aquatic Facility, which is a man made lake opened from June to September of each year.
There are picnic sites and lots of pathways and trails to enjoy.
As well, you can find the Bow Valley Ranch Visitors Centre and the Fish Creek Environmental Learning Centre.
Neighbours to the north is Maple Ridge, while Lake Bonavista is to the west and south of the community and Queensland divided by Bow Bottom Trail is to the east.
There is shopping nearby in the community of Willow Park at the Willow Park Village, but both South Centre Mall and Chinook Mall are in close proximity as well.
Bus service is available with the closest LRT (Light Rail Transit) located just west of the community of Lake Bonavista in the neighbourhood of Canyon Meadows.
