Beddington Heights is a community in the North West quadrant of the city of Calgary.
The neighbourhood is one of a handful of communities that actually is in the North West quadrant as well as the North East quadrant. The bulk of the community is in the North West with a smaller portion being on the east side of Centre Street North. In the North quadrant, Centre Street is the dividing line between north east and north west.
Development of the community started in the late 1970's and consists mainly of single family homes, with some duplexes and town homes.
The neighbourhood is just slightly north east of Nose Hill Park, the largest off leash park in the city of Calgary.
It covers an area of 1,129 hectares and borders 12 communities in the North West.
Nose Hill Park is definitely an experience of the prairie nature without leaving the city.
Many people enjoy the hiking trails and many more bring their beloved furry friend with them as they stroll through the park.
Views of downtown, Canada Olympic Park and the mountains from different areas inside the park.
On the east side of the community just east of Beddington Boulevard at Beddington Trail is the Nose Creek Valley.
Beautiful views all along this magnificent hiking/biking trail. Another excellent large off-leash area can be found where many people enjoy walking their dogs throughout the rolling hills and streams.
Other than having Nose Hill Park as a neighbour to the south west and the Nose Creek Valley to the east, the community's neighbours to the north divided by Beddington Trail is Country Hills, to the west is Sandstone to the south is Huntington Hills.
Shopping can be found along Centre Street in the community, however Deerfoot Mall is a short distance, on the east side of Huntington Hills.
Bus service to downtown is excellent, or a drive down Centre Street will bring you to the core in short time.
Schools can be found in the community as well as in neighbouring communities.
