Arbour Lake is the only lake community in the North West area of Calgary.
It is conveniently located just north of Nose Hill Drive and west of Crowchild Trail.
Development of the community started in the early 1990's. Most of the homes are large single family two story type.
The Lake is man made and very well monitored to ensure a safe environment for people, animals and vegetation alike.
Many families pack a lunch and make a whole day at the Lake. On a warm sunny day, the lake and the sandy beach can make you forget that you are in a major Canadian city.
Only residents of the community, and their guests, are permitted access to the Lake.
Other than the enjoyment found at this man made water hole, there are bike and walking paths with beauty that will take you breath away.
Many parks and playgrounds to be enjoyed in this community as well.
Mountain views from many homes and many of the green spaces are without a doubt another enjoyable aspect of this community.
Access to downtown via Crowchild Trail, which runs along side the community.
The LRT (Light Rail Transit) station can be found along side Crowchild atrial, north of Nose Hill Drive.
The many different stores and businesses in the community at the Crowfoot Crossing Shopping centre is also conveniently located at the intersection of Crowchild Trail and Nose Hill Drive.
Schools can be found in the community as well as in the neighbouring communities.
