Acadia is a community in the South East area of the city of Calgary.
The community was developed in the early 1960's with a mixture of both single family and multi-family homes.
The businesses in the community tend to be along Fairmount Drive and MacLeod Trail.
The community borders Bow River to the east and MacLeod Trail to the west.
It is sandwiched between Southland Drive to the south and Heritage Drive to the north.
Lots of outdoor recreational areas including parks and playgrounds.
Shopping can be found in the community as well as in the neighbouring communities of Fairview and Willow Park.
Both the Chinook Centre and South Centre Mall are in close proximity.
The neighbourhood is centrally located and provides easy access to downtown via MacLeod Trail or Blackfoot Trail.
The LRT (Light Rail Transit) station is close on hand and can be found on the west side of MacLeod Trail at Heritage Drive.
Many excellent schools can be found in this neighbourhood.
